This year, graduation is going to be a home run.
For the first time, Spartanburg Community College is stepping onto the field—but not to play ball. On Sunday, May 12, SCC will host its 2025 Commencement Ceremony at Fifth Third Park, the home of the Hub City Spartanburgers!
Over 500 students will walk across the stage to receive their degrees and certificates in the heart of downtown Spartanburg. This event marks a huge milestone—not just for SCC, but for the stadium too. It’s the first time ever that students will graduate at Fifth Third Park, and we couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate our graduates than with a big-league backdrop.
A New Chapter in a New Venue
Choosing Fifth Third Park as the graduation site reflects both the growth of our student body and the college’s commitment to creating meaningful, memorable experiences. Our strong partnership with the Hub City Spartanburgers made this move feel like a natural fit. After all, we’re both committed to our community, driven by pride, and focused on creating moments that matter.
Big Stadium Energy, Big Community Spirit
Graduation is always a powerful moment, but this year promises something even more special. With expanded seating, stunning views of the field, a whole lot more elbow room for proud families and cheering friends, and maybe even a little sparkle in the sky before the night is over, Fifth Third Park is ready to welcome thousands of attendees to help celebrate our grads.
This isn’t just a ceremony—it’s a celebration. Expect inspirational student speakers, joyful recognition of academic achievements, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early—stadium gates will open well ahead of the start time to ensure everyone gets settled before the big moment begins.
