Accepted Students: Congrats and Welcome!

2022 Summer EMT Students

The information here will guide you through your next steps.

If you have not yet been accepted into a specific EMS program, you may find this overview helpful, but do not complete any of these steps prior to acceptance into an EMS Program.

  • Attend Mandatory EMT Orientation

    • EMT Orientation information such as date, time, and location can be found in your acceptance letter.
    • During Orientation, you will:
      • register for EMT classes (EMS 105 & EMS 106).
      • complete required EMS Program paperwork.
      • receive the course syllabus, addendum, and class schedule for EMT.

    After Attending Mandatory EMT Orientation:

    • Complete the mandatory Criminal Background Investigation and Drug Testing through Verified Credentials. Plan to complete these at least one (1) week prior to the first day of class to ensure results are returned by the due date.
    • Obtain required immunizations and/ or gather your records for the EMS Program required immunizations listed in your EMT Orientation packet.
      • Do this early as some immunizations require multiple doses and you may need to receive boosters for other immunizations.
    • Purchase your books and supplies from the Book Inn.
    • Schedule an appointment with Harrison’s Workwear to purchase your uniform.
      • Do this early. Although it happens infrequently, some items may be out of stock or they may need to order items to accommodate individual sizes.
      • The first day you are required to wear your uniform is the first laboratory session (listed on the class schedule you receive during EMT Orientation).
      • Refer to our Uniform Policy for complete details.
  • ** If you have not yet taken EMS 105/ EMS 106 or you are not currently certified as an EMT, do not use this section even if you are coded for the Paramedic degree or Paramedic certificate program.  Click above for the EMT Program. You will return here after completion of your initial EMT course.**
