Resume Tips, Job Listing & More...
Quick tips from SCC Career Services
What's on your resume? A resume lists your educational and career experience and is an essential document as you apply for jobs. Career Services is happy to critique your resume and/or cover letter. Email career@sccsc.edu or call our office at 864-592-4820 to get started.
- Tailor your resume to the job description. Many employers use software to search for keywords and, if your resume doesn't have the right key words related to the job duties, a human being may never even see it. This means looking through skills and making sure that if you are able to do it, it's on your resume!
- Limit your resume to one page, if possible. Sometimes this can be challenging, but the quicker you can impress the job poster, the quicker you are scheduled for an interview!
Practice your interview skills with Career Services!
Interviews can be stressful. A mock interview can help you practice and calm your nerves. To schedule a mock interview with a Career Services staff member, call the front desk at 864-592-4820.

- Review your resume to ensure that all information is current and take a copy to the interview.

- Research the company. Know if this is going to be a good fit for your skills and lifestyle.
