The South Carolina Green Industry Association is proud to announce the award of $10,000 in scholarships to collegiate horticulture programs in South Carolina.

SC Green is a statewide, non-profit organization whose goal is to serve its membership by increasing the professionalism of the green industry through ongoing educational opportunities, trade shows, and scholarships to students planning a career in the horticulture and landscape industries.

This year, SC Green awarded Clemson University, Piedmont Technical College, Spartanburg Community College, and Trident Technical College scholarships of $2,500 each towards their horticulture programs.

“This scholarship is a tremendous benefit to our students in helping them have the confidence that they can financially afford to complete their degrees and achieve their career goals. This support is a great benefit to our students and our horticulture industry,” said Jason Bagwell, Horticulture Department Chair at Spartanburg Community College.

“We are grateful for the funding that SC Green has provided for our students,” said Kim Arp, Director of Development at Clemson University. “The funds will be used to provide support for our Horticulture and Turfgrass Clubs to participate in undergraduate research efforts and regional and national conferences. Without this support, many of our students would be unable to join in these opportunities.”
