SCC Marketing Team Recognized for Excellence

The SCC Marketing Team is recognized for excellence for their work on SCC's Free Tuition campaign, the development and launch of Chaser, the mascot, and the installation of a new mural on campus.

Spartanburg, SC - The Spartanburg Community College marketing team was recently recognized for excellence in marketing, branding, and social media initiatives by the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations at the District 2 conference in St. Petersburg, Florida.

"It is a gift to have such a dynamic team of creative architects in the Marketing Department of Spartanburg Community College," said Dr. Stacey Obi, Vice President of Strategic Innovation at SCC. "These awards are reflective of the hours of hard work our team put into campaign creation in announcing our innovative Free Tuition Initiative, and leading the charge to share our message through multiple channels to engage South Carolinians and showcase that there is no better time to complete a degree or program than when it is free to do so!"

The team received four awards (one gold, and three silver) in recognition of the college’s free tuition campaign, the launch of Chaser the mascot, and a new outdoor mural installed on the Giles Campus. The awards include the following:

Led by Dr. Obi, the SCC Marketing team includes Cheri Anderson-Hucks, director; Jane Bird, senior creative manager; Debbie Stevens, marketing operations manager; and Simon Whitaker, digital strategy manager.
