Rep. Forrester honored with Order of Palmetto

South Carolina State Rep. Mike Forrester has been awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Gov. Henry McMaster. The Order of the Palmetto represents the highest civilian honor in South Carolina. Representing District 34, Forrester was first elected to the State House in 2008 and announced his retirement earlier this year.
A U.S. Army Reserve veteran, Forrester has marked much of his public service and professional careers with numerous leadership roles in economic development for The Upstate. Forrester has served as Chairman of the State Board of Education, Chairman of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member of the State Workforce Investment Board, and he has served in many other organizations to bring quality jobs to South Carolina.
Also receiving the award was Spartanburg Rep. Eddie Tallon, who also announced his retirement earlier this year.
