SCC Early College

Early College: Start Chasing Your Dreams NOW!

It's the best 2-for-1 we can think of: earning your high school diploma AND an associate degree, all at the same time!

The Early College program is an innovative partnership between Spartanburg Community College and the school districts across Spartanburg and Cherokee counties. Participating students receive a high school diploma AND the first two years of transferable college credit or associte degree in preparation for high-growth and high-demand careers. Early College students attend all four years of high school in a college setting. Spartanburg County Early College High School (SCECHS), Viking Early College, and Cherokee County Early College are all within the SCC Early College Program.

Meet Early College Student, Tatum

As a high school senior, Tatum Beck enrolled into the SCC dual enrollment program starting in the fall of 2017. Since then, Tatum has maintained a stellar collegiate GPA, served as a SCC Dual Enrollment Ambassador, and stayed active in the SCC community. Tatum decided to stay at SCC after high school and is looking to earn an Associate of Science degree before continuing her education further.
